New Streaming Media Survey on Revenue Protection and Security

Written by Marketing | Aug 10, 2021 2:45:00 PM

Are content owners as concerned with piracy and its impact on revenue as they once were? That’s the latest topic being addressed in the Research Keynote during the Streaming Media Connect, and your help is needed to survey the overall trends in revenue loss due to piracy, technical issues, and other factors.

Crafted by the team at Help Me Stream Research Foundation in conjunction with Unisphere Research and our team, the Content and Revenue Protection Trends 2021 survey asks numerous questions about revenue protection, beyond just content protection.

“Revenue protection is not just about DRM, and we would like to understand more about the approaches organizations take around revenue security, whether they distribute their own content or use an online video streaming service” says Tim Siglin, Founding Executive Director of Help Me Stream Research Foundation. “Everyone in the streaming industry should let their voice be heard, via this survey, about the impact that content and revenue protection have on our personal and professional lives.”

Beyond piracy, though, the survey is interested in how organizations protect their streams of online video revenues. We've all heard horror stories of online pay-per-view events having to refund event ticket prices due to technical issues other than the actual streaming portion, such as authentication server issues.

Respondents who complete the survey and provide their email address will be registered for a random drawing for a $500 (USD) Amazon gift card. The survey closes August 16, and the results presented during a Streaming Media Connect keynote on August 24.
