EZDRM Announces API Integration with Amazon Web Services

EZDRM, the specialist provider of Digital Rights Management as a Service (DRMaaS), today announced API integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Elemental Media Services. The API integration streamlines the key exchange process between EZDRM’s KeyZ server and AWS Elemental MediaConvert and AWS Elemental MediaPackage. Fast, reliable key exchange is an important initial step in encrypting and securing streaming video content. A straightforward key management interface, dynamic business rules, and API-driven licensing empowers customers to expand viewership and create new revenue streams while maintaining full control over valuable video content.

ezdrm-universal-drmUniversal DRM from EZDRM is a combination of Google’s Modular Widevine and Microsoft’s PlayReady technologies via Common Encryption (CENC) over DASH. This single multi-DRM solution for content delivery allows the usage of custom data allowing business logic to seamlessly integrate into the DRM license issue process. EZDRM also supports Apple FairPlay Streaming to protect service delivery to iOS devices and Apple TV.

AWS Elemental Media Services are managed cloud services that make it fast and easy to prepare, process, and deliver broadcast and multiscreen video at scale. Live workflows can utilize AWS Elemental MediaPackage for reliable preparation and protection of video content over the internet, including for just-in-time packaging, origination, and encryption of linear broadcast and event-based content on multiple devices. On-demand use cases such as content library conversion or asset creation can incorporate AWS Elemental MediaConvert, a file-based video transcoding service with broadcast-grade features, including packaging and encryption capabilities for broadcast and multiscreen delivery at scale. Both AWS services include API integration with KeyZ API from EZDRM to streamline key ingestion and cloud-based DRM licensing.

“As customers increasingly adopt AWS Elemental Media Services for premium video content preparation and delivery, we wanted to ensure that a complementary, simple-to-implement DRM cloud service was available,” said Olga Kornienko, COO of EZDRM. “In fact, making the decision to integrate with AWS Elemental Media Services for this was easy, because we all win when our customers can create a secure, scalable service with minimum integration complexity.”
